We tend to block out negative thoughts, hoping to build a paradise on earth, where everything is safe, peaceful and perfect. But this will never happen. There is no paradise on earth, and the world out there will not really change. But what we can change are our attitudes and reactions. This means: not what is happening, not sickness or health, not wealth or poverty , not what we have or what is happening to us, determines our attitude towards life; but what we think about it is responsible for our happiness.
Life needs to be accepted as a whole. — Also the difficult, the less than perfect, the faulty, suffering, seducing and dark? Yes, even all that.
We will not succeed to create paradise on earth. We will not succeed to become perfect. But by accepting all problems, all hardship as challenges to confess our true values, our love, our inner self and to understand all shadow as a proof of light, we create in ourselves the beauty, the peace and the paradise we are longing for.
