Code of Ethics

The Joyful-Life Code of Ethics for All Healing Professions

At the heart of our work are the people who seek our advice, our care and our companionship. We meet them not as cases, diagnoses or problems to be managed, but as human beings in the fullness of their dignity, complexity and uniqueness.

We take the time that is truly needed to offer naturopathic, holistic and high-quality care. Our work is guided not by external pressures, but by the needs, wishes and possibilities of those who come to us, always with mindful regard for their personal and financial circumstances.

We seek to ease fear, reduce anxiety and create an atmosphere of trust, calm and human warmth. The healing space should be a place in which people feel safe, heard and respected.

We use the time of treatment with care and responsibility. We do our best to respond to as many of our patients’ needs as possible and to protect the therapeutic process from the unnecessary strain of haste and pressure.

We regard our patients as partners. They have the right to ask questions, to express feelings, to voice criticism and to participate actively in their own process. We aspire to be trusted companions in matters of prevention, therapy and personal development throughout the different stages of life.

Except in emergencies, we remain free to decline or discontinue cooperation when this is required by our professional judgement, our competence, or the needs and willingness of the patient to engage in the healing process.

We are committed to the continual deepening of our knowledge and skills, free from the influence of pharmaceutical interests. We follow developments in medical science critically and with an open mind, and we remain ready to consider other therapeutic approaches, physicians and colleagues whenever this serves the well-being of our patients.

We do not treat diseases alone. We treat human beings. Our aim is always holistic healing, attentive to the inner and outer ecology of the person who seeks our help.

We know that the human being is more than a biological mechanism and must never be reduced to one. Nor can a person be understood only through the intellect. We recognise the unity of body, mind and soul, and we honour the many levels of consciousness, feeling and experience that shape each individual life.

We seek not only to support the restoration of health, but also to help people preserve it. We therefore offer guidance, preventive measures and practical support that strengthen responsibility, awareness and the conditions for a healthy life. In all matters concerning health and life orientation, we endeavour to offer thoughtful advice and sincere assistance.

We remain aware that every action carries ethical consequences. For this reason, we strive in all areas of life to avoid conduct that clouds judgement, weakens integrity or compromises the freedom and clarity required for responsible healing work.

As healers, we are committed to life and health. We do not seek to destroy life, nor to prolong suffering without meaning. We reject all actions that deliberately violate the sanctity of life or inflict harm in poisonous measure.

Invasive or painful diagnostic methods are used only when they are truly necessary for healing or for the prevention of greater harm.

We strive to explain and guide without manipulation, suggestion or misuse of influence. Healing must never become a means of control or power.

We honour the high values of Christian ethics, especially love, compassion and charity, without embracing moral attitudes that condemn rather than understand.

Knowing that no human perspective is perfect and that life rarely presents itself in absolute purity, we nevertheless commit ourselves to a simple and enduring ethical path:
